Back home!

Well, joff and i have successfully arrived back home to Melbourne. It is all very exciting.

We had a great last few days away. Apart from our shuttle in Antigua to the airport that managed to be 1 hour and 10 mintues late at 5am in the morning, and then the traffic getting into Guatemala that almost made us miss our plane, the trip was smooth sailing. Oh, and my pack that managed to arrive into LA airport about 6 hours after i did and needed to be delivered to the hotel during the night! Stupid american air system!

The hotel in LA, curtesy of Dad and this frequent stay points, was very luxurious, we both felt like we were sleeping in a giant marshmellow! And the salmon pasta, something we hadn't experienced in a long time, sombined with a glass of wine, another thing we had been missing all went down a treat!

There was some definate culture shock. When i went to the toliet i looked around wondering where the rubbish bin was before i realised that i was allowed to put it into the toilet, a novel idea. And i was looking around for obttled water until i realised that i could drink out of the tap!

Add to these small details heading to Disneyland, a particularly clean, friendly, consumer driven location and you have a recipe for more culture shock! It was a fun day, we managed to go on almost all the rides, ate burgers, and lollies and laughed our way around the park. Good times.

But now we are back, unpacking, enjoying what melbourne and home has to offer, trying on clothes that we both forgot we owned and enjoying lifes little luxuries.

mmm....
