The kids here lived high up on an alpine plateau. Very rocky, cold and exposed. There was no water available at this time of year. As Min explained, water was carried up the 800m trail from the village Xexocom down in the valley below.
They would herd goats and sheep under the stunted pine trees that cling to the cliff near the summit.
Their community consisted of about 20 little wooden shacks with dirt floors and corrugated iron roofs. Thick smoke came out of the roofs from their cooking fires, the inside would be black from soot. An amazing existance. Oh yeah, in the middle of the village was a bumpy slope which had two wooden futbool goals. The main activity for the many kids in this village.
