Games fever!

Hi everyone! Over the last few days Joff and I have been getting into the spirit of the Commonwealth Games. Thursday night we went into a free concert at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl called sounds of the pacific, featuring 2 different NZ bands/ groups and a group from the Solomon Islands. It was really great, a beutiful evening sitting back on a rug in the gardens. After that we walked up through the gardens catching a bit of a free circus performance and then the light and sounds show of 71 brightly lit metal fish that go donw the length of the Yarra River.

Yesterday we got on our bikes and rode from my house down the river to the Docklands where we watched the mens 50km walk. It was really great and Joff and I were both happy with Australia coming 1st and 3rd and a kiwi coming 2nd. Joff ran up and down along the circuit shouting encouragements for the kiwi and it paid off when he overtook the australian to claim Silver. He is pictured below. We then rode around to St. Kilda before returning home. It was a great day, pretty hot, but it was nice to be out and about with so many people.

Joff's gone off to check out some of the sailing clubs today and i've been off to the market. My sister Kate is sitting the Gamstat exam to try to get into Medicine so we are all thinking of her today...
