hi,
its a lovely sunday morning, except for the fact that in my half sleep i was having a few weird and scary dreams...thats when you know a sleep in isn't working!
it was really stormy overnight. we have a tin roof so we notice these things. i love the tin roof.
joff has gone off to work at the deli.
its been a great week. i have been busy getting organised for the photo exhibition i am helping to run which is on Octobr 15th. Yesterday was a really great day though. i went to the Oaktree Foundation's Inter-university conference on social justice. It was a great opportunity to hear from some great key note speakers (Tim Costello CEO World Vision, Kevin Rudd Shadow minister for Foreign Affairs etc. We then participated in workshops- i chose world health and climate change.
The climate change one was very interesting. Talking about our carbon debt and ecological footprint. With some parts of Australis potentially going into stage 4 water restrictions this summer (no more showers- only a bucket of water) it all made us realise how real it all is. No longer is environmental policy a topic of "greenies", with Richard Branson's recent "donation" to the environment it is becoming a topic of the mainstream public and something that we should all consider.
I'm off to buy a timer for the shower!
Anyway, i might write more about stuff i learnt at a later date. joff is away from tonight to wednesday for his parent's yacht launch (have fun guys!) so i will have some time here to do more blogging while he probably catches up with some of you!
