Birthday Best

Hi peoples.
Well today was possibly my best birthday ever! Had beautiful weather and a really fun trip to the Zoo with lots of happy people, fantastic food and cold wine.
Min and I started our day with a walk down to have breakfast at the local bakery where we bought fresh bread for lunch. Had coffee, chatted, then walked home to get the picnic organised... We had been to the South Melbourne Market on Saturday so we had lots of fresh salad, cheeses, wine, salami, fruit etc. Min made a Cherry Ripe (chocolate bar) baked cheesecake for me (muchos Yum) and we were set to go.

Garry, Judy, Kate and about 12 frisbee friends.. Ruth and Charlie, Jonas.. and a couple of German backpackers made up our team and we all met at the Werribee Open Range Zoo at 11. The Safari tour was great.. a 45 minute 4WD guided drive around the zoo. We saw too many species for me to remember now, but the most memorable would have to have been the Bison (huge and woolly), Giraffes, Rhinos, Antelope and Camels.

There was frisbee, cake, sun.. all good things.

And when we got home we had a whole snapper to cook on the BBQ. It was so good I had to take a photo. And that's a new woollen top that I'm wearing a la Min.
